FPV/FCoV/Giardia Antigen Rapid Test
Catalogue No: RAPG-FCG-001
TEST KIT DESCRIPTION
The Biopanda FPV/FCoV/Giardia Antigen Rapid Test qualitatively detects Feline Panleukopenia Virus antigen (FPV Ag), Feline Coronavirus antigen (FCoV Ag) and Giardia lamblia antigen in a cat’s faecal specimen. This test is a sandwich lateral flow immuno-chromatographic assay and results can be obtained between 5 and 10 minutes.
The test is a combined cassette that independently tests for the above antigens. Each test window has invisible Test (T) and Control (C) regions that become visible during testing. If enough FPV Ag, FCoV Ag or Giardia antigen is present in the sample, the T band will become visible in the respective test window. The C band will appear in all test windows to clarify a valid result.
KIT CONTENTS
10 foil wrapped pouches containing a test cassette, pipette, and desiccant
10 assay buffer tubes
10 swabs
1 product insert
TEST PROCEDURE
1. Collect a sample of the cat’s faeces or vomit using the swab provided.
2. Place the swab containing the sample into the assay buffer tube and stir thoroughly.
3. Open the cassette from the foil pouch and position it on a flat, clean surface.
4. Using the pipette provided, collect a sample of the buffer/specimen mixture.
5. Holding the pipette vertically, slowly drip 4 drops of the mixture into each specimen well on the cassette. Start the timer.
6. Read the results after 10 minutes have elapsed. Do not interpret results after 15 minutes.
RESULTS
POSITIVE: *A coloured band appears in the control band region (C) and another coloured band appears in the test band region (T).
NEGATIVE: One coloured band appears in the control band region (C). No band appears in the test band region (T).
INVALID: Control band fails to appear. Results from any test which has not produced a control band at the specified reading time must be discarded. Please review the procedure and repeat with a new test. If the problem persists, discontinue using the kit immediately and contact your local distributor.
*NOTE: The intensity of the colour in the test region (T) may vary depending on the concentration of FPV/FCoV/Giardia Ag present in the specimen. Therefore, any shade of colour in the test region should be considered a positive result.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Store the kit between 2-30oC and ensure the kits are not frozen or stored in direct sunlight. The test is valid until the expiration date printed on the foil wrapping.
PRECAUTIONS
Follow these instructions for the best results:
Ensure the test cassette and buffer are at room temperature before running the test.
Keep the cassette inside the foil pouch until it is needed.
Ensure each test is used only once.
Test kits that have reached their expiry date should not be used.
Only use reagents from this kit when performing the test to ensure quality controlled testing.
Handle all specimens as if they contain infectious agents. Observe established precautions against microbiological hazards throughout the procedure and follow standard procedures for proper disposal of specimens and used tests.
